Client:

Our client a leading Multinational Semiconductor Company require Senior UX Design Researcher for role based in Limerick City, Ireland. They are currently working a Hybrid working Model of 2 days onsite.  

 

Role:

They are looking for an experienced UX Design Researcher to join the Customer Tools Experience (CTX) team of the Customer Office. We need you to help innovate and execute on initiatives that bring delightful experiences to customers across a broad range of industry segments.

 

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for increasing our knowledge in keys areas of product development: Problem spaces, user needs, business needs etc. You will orchestrate and conduct discovery initiatives such as user interviews, usability tests or whichever research technique is deemed appropriate. Your role is to bring the voice of the user into the product design teams, including:

  • Identifying the research needs for projects before or as they kick off
  • Creating research plans and clearly outlining your role and the roles of your cross-functional team members
  • Partner closely with Product and Business owners to establish and test hypothesis related to product and business strategy and user needs and ensure product market fit
  • Perform primary and secondary research to understand users, their goals, and pain points
  • Synthesize user feedback into actionable recommendations
  • Help perform competitive analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of competitor products
  • Leverage secondary research (market research reports, previous user research, etc.) as a means to supplement primary research with real users and to build domain knowledge
  • Provide insights for Product Manager(s) and key stakeholders to help them shape their product strategy
  • Develop personas and stories to promote empathy with users among stakeholders
  • Communicate ideas to address user needs with succinct presentations
  • Create and own an accessible research hub for your team that can scale and other teams can add their own findings to in a coherent way
  • Evangelize the importance of design research as part of overall Design process
  • Educate product teams new to design research methods in order to help them integrate real users into their design lifecycle
  • Structure and facilitate ideation and other types of workshops

Requirements:

  • Strives to remove bias within our teams and process, highly aware of how our own biases interfere with our ability to see the whole picture
  • Ability to navigate all types of user research both in person, online, one-on-one and in larger group situations
  • Product background or ability to understand complex product concepts
  • User focused with a strong understanding of business development
  • Ability to distil and provide clear and actionable recommendations to the product team
  • Experience with large-scale surveys and analytics an asset
  • Interested or experienced in teaching others about UX research
  • Adaptability — we often we work with first-to-market products, and we need to apply research tactics flexibly to understand user needs and product opportunities
