Client:

Our client a leading Multinational Semiconductor Power Organisation requires Senior Staff IC Characterization Engineer for role based in Cork, Ireland.

You will be required to be onsite 3 days per week. 

Role:

You will join a growing team in Cork, Ireland, that is involved in development of integrated circuits at the heart of modern power systems. In this position, the successful candidate will work primarily with experienced design, applications and test engineering teams to ensure that company develops silicon that achieves full compliance against target specifications, industry standards and customer acceptance criteria.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These include the following.

  • Development of IC characterization strategies, covering both ATE and bench level characterization environments as appropriate.
  • Development of strategies for accelerated lifetime testing, skew-lot specification and testing and temperature testing.
  • Documentation of comprehensive silicon characterization plan.
  • Participation and design of dedicated HW to support IC characterization steps.
  • Automation of lab-based and ATE-based characterization steps, for robust, repeatable, high quality data result gathering and analysis
  • Structured issue tracking & reporting.
  • Extensive collaboration with both design and test engineering teams for detailed circuit analysis and root cause analysis of unexpected or erroneous results.
  • AC timing characterization of customer proprietary communications interfaces
  • Development of methodologies and procedures to ensure high levels of data discipline to support HW platform robustness, repeatability of bench-level testing and quality of results.
  • Planning, tracking and reporting of project progress against key milestones
  • Provide an environment where collaboration, effective communication and learning is fun and rewarding


Education:

PhD, post-graduate or degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ relevant engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Expertise of User Experience, Product Design and Product Management
  • Experience of full-product characterisation and ATE test flows.
  • Experience and knowledge of power conversion
  • Experience with embedded systems.
  • Experience of working in wide-ranging roles and flexible environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • The ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to support and mentor less experienced team member
