Client:
Our client leading Multinational Semiconductor Telecom Company requires Contract Wireless DSP Algorithms Engineer for 6-12 month daily rate role based in Cork City, Ireland.
The role is requires you to be based onsite 5 days per week.
Role:
You will join a team and contribute to the validation of next-generation IoT chips (3GPP NR), with core responsibilities centred on validating wireless baseband algorithms implemented in a C++ simulator and requiring a solid understanding of wireless DSP algorithms, knowledge of 3GPP physical-layer specifications for NR (and optionally LTE), experience with Python and MATLAB, and the ability to create meaningful test cases and interpret and analyse performance results.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a Linux-based C++ simulator that executes DSP algorithms for the NR baseband.
- Perform system modeling in accordance with 3GPP requirements and internal specifications.
- Create performance-validation test cases such as Packet Error Rate, probability of detection, probability of false alarm, and measurement statistics (mean, standard deviation, etc.).
- Implement these test cases within the Python environment that accompanies the C++ simulator.
- Interpret and analyze results using MATLAB and Python.
- Understand DSP algorithms such as OFDM modulation, PBCH, PDCCH, PDSCH, PSS/SSS detection, timing/frequency/gain estimation and tracking loops, wireless channel estimation, and FFT processing.
- Prepare and maintain performance reports.
- Support investigations of configuration or performance issues observed in lab environments and in field conditions.
Education:
Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience:
- 6+ years experience in relevant field: Wireless communication, Signal processing, 3GPP LTE/NR standards
- Proficiency in programming languages: C++, MATLAB and Python
