Role and Responsibilities:
- Seek ways to leverage emerging technology that will allow Qorvo to increase productivity while reducing hardware and software acquisition costs
- Analyze, document, plan, and coordinate application and operating system implementations, updates, and upgrades
- Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems, determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority and nature
- Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones and other computer and telecommunications equipment
- Install and support PC, laptop, tablet and mobile hardware and software
- Install and maintain highly available infrastructure for a virtualized environment enterprise
- Support DR with Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
- Deploy virtual machines and automate processes
- Allocate storage as required for virtualized environments
- Work closely with other admins on new implementations as well as maintaining the current environments
- Provide additional support when necessary for backup and storage functions
- Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage of critical systems
- Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function
- Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences, back-out instructions, and risk mitigation
- Support a program of change to meet business needs
- Develop positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external people
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related
field and one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience
Skills
- Proven track record in identifying and resolving problems, risks, and issues
- Experience with successfully implementing enterprise-class tools is desired
- Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
- Must be self-motivated
- Competent and proficient understanding of various hardware and software platforms including desktop operating systems
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Flexible during times of change
- Strong interpersonal skills: persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
- Ability to influence decision makers without disrupting day to day operations or protocols
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude is required
- Must be able to learn, comprehend, and apply emerging technologies and concepts.
