My client currently has a requirement for a Desktop Support Specialist for a 6 month daily rate contract based in Dublin. 

Role Purpose

You will provide 2nd level IT support to users in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager, the Deskside Support Specialist manages any tasks requiring Level 2 IT support.
Strong communication skills, coupled with a desire to provide excellent and seamless IT Support Services to end users are a must for this role.


  • Manage all Incidents requiring 2nd level/deskside support for the designated user population within SLA
  • Build, install and support PC’s, phone systems and peripheral devices related to desktop infrastructure
  • Collate and maintain Asset information for the designated site
  • Maintain a clean and organised IT Storage room
  • Resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
  • Provide advice and guidance to Service Desk/L1 Support Staff
  • Record all actions and updates in a clear and concise way in the ITSM Tool (ServiceNow)
  • Create new/update existing ServiceNow Knowledge Articles
  • Participate in IT Projects/Upgrades as required
  • Assist with Problem Management activities, supporting a drive to reduce unnecessary/avoidable contacts to the IT Service Desk
  • Support the Service Delivery Manager during Major Incidents, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting, feedback from the ground


  • 2+ years in a similar role
  • Ability to solve complex Hardware and Software issues
  • Fluent English and excellent written, verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Able to think through and communicate information effectively to all levels within the organisation
