Role:
We are looking for a seasoned software engineer who has experience with or an interest in devops. If you bring your excellent programming skills and curiosity about devops, we are willing to create that path! The ideal candidate can design, code and provide scalable solutions either in our client’s data centers or in public cloud. It is very important to have a keen eye for good architecture and the ability to develop new architectures and frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Rapidly build new applications and automate operations on an existing, robust enterprise big data platform
- Modernize our on-premise Hadoop infrastructure to provide immutable cloud-like software
- Work on multiple types of software development including backend, front-end, and devops. Devops will be the primary area of focus.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver cutting edge solutions and deliver value to our customers
- Build on existing skills to become a domain expert
- Mentor junior developers
- Serve in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for critical production issues
Requirements
- Deep experience in industry software engineering
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Scala, Ruby, Python or Perl
- Working knowledge of build automation and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo or any other tool
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and likes to solve problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Computer Science major is preferable.
- Experience with restful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, cloud system and micro service
- Experience with configuration management utilities such as Chef, Ansible or Puppet
- Functional proficiency with Linux systems (e.g. CentOS, Red Hat)
- Experience with AWS capabilities and architecture
- Experience with Containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience in distributed computing - Hadoop / Spark
