SENIOR APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING MANAGER - DUBLIN, IRELAND

Our client a leading Multinational Semiconductor RF Company requires Senior Applications Engineering Manager for role based in Dublin, Ireland. 

Role:

You will lead a team of Application Engineers whose goals are to develop reference designs and solutions dedicated to products, and to provide technical support directly to customers and to FAE local teams (Field Sales). As such, he/she will be responsible for managing proper execution of - and prioritisation between - the various projects; and for monitoring and driving indirect and direct technical support to IoT customers to ensure smooth implementation of wireless technology in combination with the suitable software stacks, companion chips and modules.

Responsibilities:

• You will manage the IoT Application Engineering Team stationed in several locations (including Dublin, Toulouse and in Qorvo regional offices for local presence close to key customers in the US, China, Korea)
• Ensure proper management and driving of the various internal and customer projects/ programs and HW / SW technical support, design review & debug activities
• Ensure smooth collaboration and synchronization with Marketing and technical teams (SW Integration, UWB IC & System Design, and IoT Application Engineering groups)
• Support the pre-sales, sales and FAE’s activities and efforts in the front line with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
• Contribute to securing design-wins for and ultimately driving revenue for the company
• Reference Designs: Will drive the Reference Design engineering activities and carry the related projects with leading suppliers of Mobile Application Processors, of Secure Elements and of other communication media ICs including NFC, WiFi and BLE.
• Documentation: Will take ownership with his/her team of the Mobile Product Documentation including Datasheets, User Guides, and dedicated Application Notes

Education:

• Degree in electrical engineering

• 15+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with technical team lead and management
• Technical understanding: Embedded systems, digital, network & RF software layers
• Experience in the Semiconductor industry and / or in the mobile phone industry highly desired
• Experience with network MAC, security and radio communication software layers such as 802-15-4, FiRA, NFC, Secure Elements will be strong a plus
• Some embedded Linux and Android experience is desired, including lower layers (Linux Kernel)
• Software test and methodology
• Expertise with C/ C++ programming; real time environments and embedded OS
• Excellent communicator (internal and external), and at ease with customer facing (customer presentations, participation to conferences etc.)

• Ability to work on multiple projects / clients simultaneously and to manage priorities
