Client:

Our client a leading Multinational Semiconductor Telecom Company requires Senior Staff FPGA Emulation Engineer for role based in Cork City, Ireland.

Please note this role will require 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office*

Role:

You will provide end-to-end technical ownership of FPGA based emulation platforms, flows, and system level debug. This is a technical role combining deep hands-on expertise with cross site technical leadership, mentoring, and platform evolution.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Deliver FPGA based emulation solutions across commercial emulation platforms including FPGA prototyping, Veloce, and Palladium
  • Drive emulation build flows, including synthesis, place & route, constraints, clocking, and timing closure.
  • Lead system level debug using waveforms, instrumentation, and content level analysis to support SoC bringup.
  • Lead or contribute to bringup of new FPGA emulation and prototyping hardware and software.
  • Collaborate closely with design, validation, software, and CAD teams across global sites.
  • Engage with EDA vendors and represent the team in cross functional and executive technical forums.
  • Mentor and technically lead junior engineers.

Education:
 

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics
Experience:
 
  • 8+ years of experience in presilicon emulation, prototyping, or silicon enablement environments
  • Proven experience defining and deploying uniform emulation methodologies and build/debug flows at scale.
  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog/RTL/HDL
  • Hands on experience with AMD/Xilinx UltraScale, UltraScale+, MPSoC. (Altera experience a plus)
  • Solid understanding of FPGA implementation flows and timing closure.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience debugging low-level hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with JTAG, kernel debuggers, and digital debug techniques
  • Strong understanding of CPU and SoC architectures, including interconnects, power management, PMICs, NoC, and peripherals.
  • Working knowledge of power and performance trade-offs
  • Experience with C/C++ programming
  • Proficiency in Python, TCL, and scripting for automation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crosssite initiatives and communicate effectively with senior technical stakeholders.
