My client is looking for an IT Systems Engineer for a permanent position in Cork.

Detailed Description

The client:

A large multinational company with a software development site employs over 60 software development professionals. The IT Division in Cork is part of the global IT Division with groups in the UK, Ireland and US.

Role:

Implement, manage and maintain hardware (Network/Telecoms/Servers) equipment for Cork Diagnostics Office liaise with and help resolve hardware/software issues for Cork users. Identify and resolve inter site issues. Work in concert with divisional IT personnel to promote and support IT strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laptops/desktops for use on the Snap-On corporate network.
• Manage and maintain the Telecoms equipment.
• Implement, manage and maintain site Servers.
• Implement, manage and maintain user active directory for the site.
• Assist with troubleshooting products in development or product tools.
• Help identify areas of cost reductions within the IT department monitoring and analyzing Telecoms and Telco bills to ensure conformity.
• Managing internal ticketing system for Cork IT group
• Storage device management ( Netapp / iSCSI etc)
• The employee will observe confidentiality regarding my clients products and policies and refrain from any disclosure, which may be prejudicial to copyrights or other Intellectual properties.
• Any other duties requested by Manager

PREFERRABLE:

• Microsoft SQL Server system experience
• Intermediate experience with Virtualization (HyperV or VMWare experience )
• Siemens HiPath PABX experience would be beneficial

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelors degree in computer engineering or science or equivalent work experience, or working towards a Bachelors degree.
• CCNA or VCP equivalent Skills
• 3 + years industry experience
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of computer engineering principles
